Consecutive

This is the modality used in a conversation:

  1. The source-language speaker pauses after conveying a message.
  2. The interpreter relays the message for the target-language speaker.
  3. The target-language speaker pauses after conveying the message.
  4. The interpreter renders the message for the source-language speaker.

The common scenarios for this modality are:

  • Medical (e.g., appointment scheduling, intakes, counseling, consultations with primary care physicians, emergency department, specialists, diagnostics imaging, etc.)
  • Legal(e.g., meetings with attorneys, immigration, court proceedings, hearings, healthcare insurance, auto insurance, etc.)
  • Education (e.g., PTCs, IEP meetings, ARD meetings, determinations, annual reviews, evaluations, qualifications, enrollment, etc.)
  • General business (i.e., sales, customer service, surveys, questionnaires, informative calls, imports, exports)

Note: 

  • Te maximum capacity per interpreter is 3 hours.
  • 2 interpreters are required for any services lasting more than 3 hours.

The rate per unit is as follows:

  • Hourly: from 0 to 2 hours.
  • Half a day’s wage per interpreter: from 0 to 4 hours. *This is the recommended option when there is uncertainty about the duration.
  • Full day’s wage per interpreter: from 4.1 to 8 hours.

Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI)

 

This modality consists in using only audio to deliver the interpretation services (e.g., a simple call over the phone, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams with camera off)

This is convenient when one of the parties will be reached out over the phone, and both parties have an active conversation (e.g., sales, customer service, scheduling, questionnaires, informative calls, counseling, appointments in general, etc.)

This option is available on a pre-scheduled basis whenever there is a specific date and time for an appointment, allowing an interpreter to be booked beforehand to avoid urgencies. Additionally, this modality is also available on an on-demand basis whenever a meeting is unforeseen.

The rate is as follows:

  • Hourly: from 0 to 2 hours.
  • Half a day’s wage per interpreter: from 0 to 4 hours. *This is recommended option when there is uncertainty about the duration.
  • Full day’s wage per interpreter: from 4.1 to 8 hours.

 

Video Remote Interpretation (VRI)

 

This modality uses audio and video to deliver the interpretation services (i.e., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, with the camera on)

Second most requested option for interpretation services, and is convenient when the meeting is virtual and both parties have an active conversation (e.g., business meetings, medical meetings, legal meetings, academic meetings, sales, intakes, questionnaires, surveys, etc.)

This option is available on a pre-scheduled basis whenever there is a specific date and time for an appointment, allowing an interpreter to be booked beforehand to avoid urgencies. Additionally, this modality is also available on an on-demand basis whenever a meeting is unforeseen.

  • Hourly: from 0 to 2 hours.

On-Site Interpretation (OSI)

 

In this modality, the interpretation services are delivered in person, when no special equipment is required (i.e., transmitters, booth)

This is convenient when an in-person meeting is possible and both parties have an active conversation (e.g., business meetings, medical meetings, legal meetings, immigration meetings, academic meetings, sales, intakes, questionnaires, surveys, etc.)

This option is available on a pre-scheduled basis whenever there is a specific date and time for an appointment, allowing an interpreter to be booked beforehand to avoid urgencies.

The rate per unit can be based as follows:

  • Hourly: from 0 to 2 hours.
  • Half a day’s wage per interpreter: from 0 to 4 hours. *This is the recommended when there is uncertainty about the duration.
  • Full day’s wage per interpreter: from 4.1 to 8 hours.

Simultaneous

This modality is used in conferences:

  1. The source-language speaker conveys a message continuously with no pauses.
  2. The interpreter relays the message for the target-language audience while the source-language speaker continues speaking.

The common scenarios for this mode of interpretation are:

  • Conferences
  • Webinars, seminars, courses, workshops
  • Lectures, master classes
  • Business meetings

Notes:

  • The maximum capacity per interpreter is 2 hours.
  • 2 interpreters are required for any services lasting more than 2 hours.

  • Hourly: from 0 to 2 hours.

Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI)

 

This modality uses audio and video to deliver the interpretation services through a platform with an interpretation integration (e.g., Zoom, Interprefy, etc.)

The most requested option for interpretation services; this is convenient when the audience attend virtually an event. Nevertheless, the audience have little to none participation (e.g., conferences, webinars, seminars, courses, workshops, lectures, master classes, business meetings, etc.)

This option is available on a pre-scheduled basis whenever there is a specific date and time for an appointment, allowing an interpreter to be booked beforehand to avoid urgencies.

The rate per unit is as follows:

  • Hourly: from 0 to 2 hours.

In this modality, a document needs to be read out loud in the target language.

  • Official documents
  • Agreements, contracts
  • Operations manuals (medical, engineering, etc.)
  • Letters, memorandums, mail, e-mail
  • Wedding events

 

Remote Sight Translation

 

This modality uses audio and video to deliver the interpretation services (i.e., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, with camera on)

This is convenient when the client is not in the interpreter’s region or if the client’s agenda does not allow an in-person meeting.

This option is available on a pre-scheduled basis whenever there is a specific date and time for an appointment, allowing an interpreter to be booked beforehand to avoid urgencies.

Note: The document to be sight translated must be on a legible format for the sake of accuracy.

On-Site Sight Translation

 

In this modality, the interpretation services are delivered in person. This is convenient when the client is in the interpreter’s region.
